Welcome to my world ~ Dvds and Vcds 篇

Pple everytime tot me being a 宅男 will have alot of cash on hand, coz i dun chiong, dun smoke, dun go out with friends so often, and very $$ minded. Therefore, i confirm very rich wan. This is damn not true, although i m 宅男, i spent hell lot of $$ to satisfy my material wants, such as vcds n dvds, comics, swords replicas, magic the gathering cards ,and etc and etc.

Talking abt vcds, i muz go all the way back to 1997, where i onli a primary 6 kid. During tt time, video tapes has already phased out, laser discs is declining coz of its size and cost. Too expensive liao, it can go up to $100plus for 1 movie. I mean original la, besides, at that time even nw, we cnt buy or burn pirated Laser Discs. So ard tt time, mkt came out with VCDs, is much much more smaller and cheaper compared to LDs.

Therefore 11 years ago, my father brought home a vcd player and 4 vcds, all ang moh wan, tink Speed 2 -cruise control is one of them, the othe 3 i cnt remember liao. And that, begins my journey of collecting vcds. At first, i collect more ang moh than chinese then i sian, i went to collect chinese wan. Staring with uncle lau. Since young, i have been watching his shows dating from his tvb days like return of the condor heroes and duke of the deer mountain. So i decided to collect all his movies and tv serials coz i like his acting. So from there on, i started to collect his movies and ltr branch to jackie chan to stephen chow to jet li to louis khoo to simon yam to sammo hung to lesile cheung to jacky cheung to tony leung jia hui to tony leung chao weiand etc and etc and etc.

At ard 2000, which is 8 years ago, i met the very ist talk cock buddy. His name is lee mou hua. Often i will called him jackass mou. I noe him since i was sec 1 in st pats. We were in the same class 1E4. But it is onli sec 3 that i got to noe that he is oso a fanatic in disc collection. Therefore, it begins the disc race bet me and him. Yah is childish la, but at that time we everytime wan to compare wan fr results to magicthegathering to discs. It is oso tt time, i spent tons and tons of my pocket $$ in discs, we buy onli original wan ok!!! Tt y tt time seebei hiong ah. But sometimes we buy pirated wan for those cnt be sales on spore, cnt blame us wan, we wan to support original but they dun sell, no choice la. I dun mean porn vcds, i mean those tt censorship board deem is too violence for kids.they banned totally. Eg is a very classic movie, Saving pirate Ryan, luckily with the new classification, nw we can buy the original saving private ryan and young and dangerous part 1 to 6 and etc and etc. It is much more defined and clearer.

Then of cse, i oso must thanked my father friends who often go HK, and will usually help me find those extreme "rare" movies tt are not on sale in spore. Eg, those very old show dated back to 80s and early 90s.

K nw finally to showcase my collection:

Above is andy lau section. Some shows is very old dated 1983, like home at hongkong and 1984 like, everlasting love and shanghai 13.

This is the stephen chow and andy lau dvd section.

To date, i onli left 8 movies to complete all andy lau films from 1982 to 2007.

In his 20++ years of career he has acted near to 13o movies(excluding his cameo appearances in other films), and over 10 tvb serials. Therefore, i muz say he is the most challenging artist for me to collect all his movies and serial. Many of his early production like boat people(ist movie, 1982) and once upon a rainbow(1982), i cnt find even in HK.

To date, i only left 3 movies to complete All stephen chow's shows

In the case of jackie chan, i have almost all his movies except those in the 70s and early 80s.

Above is the main bulk of my collection.

Altogether got 2 towers for vcds, 4 sections of vcds, 3 sections of Dvds.

In it, one cn almost find any of the HK stars films from 80s to presents. I have collections from Hui brothers, chow yun fatt, jet li ,jacky cheung, bruce lee, tony leung kar fai, tony leung chao wei, leslie cheung, simon yam, luis khoo, ekin, eric tsang, maggie cheung, rosamund kwan, vivien chow, michelle reis, cherie chung, brigitte lin, veronica yip, shu qi, cecilia cheung..............

Here comes my TVB serial collection. Mainly are andy lau and stephen chow serial.

Last but not least is my Korean Drama Collection，韩剧。At first, everytime i always laugh at pple watching those korean drama, it dun really interest me at all. However, it all begin in 2005 when i am in NS, then got one fellow nsf intro me to a drama, Full House. Once i watched it, i immediately got captivated by Song Hye Gyo. She is damn chio n funny la. Ever since then, i keep buying her korean drama non stop (All in, Hotelier, Autuum tales, My Angel, Sunshine of Love) and juz like when i first started collect chinese vcds, i started to collect other actress drama and so on and so on. Besides, my mother like to watch 韩剧, therefore i usually brought them to entertain her. Hahaha.

So, this is one of the channel where my saving gone to. I did not calculate hw much i spent on these discs, think muz be over thosand of dollars ba. Therefore, do not think i being 宅男 means i m rich!!!
